Workshop
During the first semester of 2021-22, the students of the subject Systems of Representation at the La Salle School of Architecture carried out a photographic study in the city of L'Hospitalet. The aim of the work was to represent with photographs four visions of the contemporary city: generic, metabolic, soulless and liveable. At the end of the semester, art educator and cultural mediator Teresa Rubio gave a workshop dedicated to represent these multiple visions of the city with a collage.
The workshop took place at the La Salle School of Architecture in two sessions, of two hours each, on 8 and 11 February 2022,
On the first day, students were introduced to the basics of collage, followed by a short individual exercise with collage. The class was then divided into four teams, each of which created a map of the city of L'Hospitalet using collage techniques.
The second day began with a short individual exercise using folding techniques. The team of students then continued with the construction of the map of the city. During the process of creating the map, students exchanged ideas and explained the process they were following.
